I hadn’t been to see live music at Trainspotters and I heard MKO were launching their single Snarly so I ducked in after a few beers with the boys. Apart from the venue desperately needing a new sound desk the gig was awesome. The usual suspects were there of course and I’d imagine quite a few regulars were treated to the vibe MKO bring. Awesome gig as per usual guys, can’t wait for the next one!
For the tech heads, we’re shooting in the dark here. The 70-200 f2.8 couldn’t grab focus (there was a lamp on at the front initially but someone turned it off one song in) so manual it was! I had to track the jewels near Hannah’s eyes to ensure we were even close to sharp. Even some of the below frames are soft but I’ve included them because I love the expression. My fantastic EXIF plugin is stuffed due to the new media manager in WP so you’ll just have to trust me that everything was shot at 12,800 ISO or H1 wide open obviously. Images were boosted by around +0.6 and a little noise reduction applied. They’re definitely acceptable for web use but I wouldn’t want to go to print. They’re obviously noisy and there’s a bit of detail loss in the noise reduction process. All in all an absolute stress test for the 1D Mk IV.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!
